I like to think I’ve always been passionate about communication. In elementary school this showed itself as D’s in conduct (it was always ‘Too much talking…’) but it later showed up in high school debate and mock legislature, facilitating difficult diversity conversations as an Orientation Leader and RA in college, and parent/teacher conferences as a young Teach For America corps member. These days it shows up most often in the films we create for clients (and for fun), but at its core it’s really still all about communication.
Past experiences working with high-performing schools and teachers have helped to calibrate expectations high, and I still love any chance I get to work in the world of education. The mountains of North Carolina make my heart smile, and I dream of one day running away there. My two pups keep our Instagram full of #pupcontent, and I'm pretty sure I follow more animals these days than I do humans.
Emilia is an endless people watcher, day dreamer, and project do-er. After graduating with a degree in film from Emerson College, Emilia moved to Los Angeles and spent a few years working in animation. She is thrilled to be back behind the camera with the BDLB team! In her free time you can find Emilia working on her own documentary films, watching horror movies with her husband, seeking good community, and enjoying a million cups of tea.

In west Philadelphia, born and raised, filming or editing is how Tyler spends most of his days. After moving to California to attend USC, he received his film degree from Los Angeles Film School and went on to work various positions inside the entertainment industry. He moved to Durham in 2013 and worked as a editor/videographer for various Triangle-based production and marketing companies before finally landing at BDLB (he and his wife are proud former BDLB wedding clients).
He believes in three things — the power of love, the power of story, and the power of pit bulls (specifically his dog Vernon, a rescue from South Central LA who is now living the American Dream)
The camera is Yuri’s comfort blanket — that and the oyster bar. He loves meeting new people and capturing real moments in a way that can be treasured by generations. In his spare time, he enjoys the out-of-the-way winding road with his wife, but they’re likely cleaning up after their two kids. Yuri also feels silly about third person references. ^_^
Planning a wedding is hard enough (TRUST ME, I know), that worrying about your videographer should be the easiest decision you make. We're here to help make that possible, and our process will take as much work off your plate as we possibly can!
